Communal areas

Find out about court communal areas, holding parties and booking BBQs.

Court communal areas

Many of the Courts have communal areas for you to access with TVs, sofas and pool tables – perfect for relaxing with friends.

Hazel Farm has a communal area located on Hamilton Drive for students to use.

Manor Park also has a study centre and a prayer room.

Holding parties

If you would like to have a larger group of friends over we suggest utilising the common rooms.

You are unable to hire the space for exclusive use, so please be respectful of the space and those around you. Parties are allowed on only Friday or Saturday nights outside of designated exam periods.

Noise must not be excessive at any time and must be kept to a minimum during quiet hours (11pm - 8am). You are also responsible for leaving the area clean and free of debris after your gathering.

Barbecues

There are a number of barbecue areas located on on both the Stag Hill and Manor Park campuses, which are there to help you stay safe whilst giving you an opportunity to enjoy our surroundings with friends during the summer:

  • Lake - south of the lake near the footpath
  • Stag Hill Court - near the reception
  • Guildford Court - towards the quiet centre and next to the Garden Societies garden (not easily accessible by wheelchair due to a steep hill)
  • Manor Park - near Paxton's Pond
  • Hazel Farm - on the lawn between house 31 and 25 Hamilton Drive.

Barbecue sites are available for use between 11am and 9pm.

Please be aware that barbecues will not be permitted during exam periods and graduation.
