Semester date exceptions
- Guildford School of Acting: please visit the GSA website for specific term dates.
- Full-time undergraduate courses with clinical placements: taking may also take place during winter and summer vacations.
- Full-time postgraduate taught courses: teaching and assessment activities also take place during the winter and summer vacations.
- Full-time postgraduate research courses: attendance is continuous throughout the year.
- BMBS Medicine programme: please refer to school communications, your timetable and SurreyLearn for accurate dates.
- International students: further clarification and guidance around specific vacation periods should check the visa section on MySurrey.
University closure dates
The University will be closed, but key facilities and services will still be available. Check our seasonal opening hours to find out which services will be available ahead of each closure.
- August Bank Holiday: 31 August 2026 & 30 August 2027
- Christmas and New Year: 24 December 2026 - 1 January 2027
- Easter: 26 March - 31 March 2027
