The Sir Ronald Wates is now open

We are excited to announce that The Sir Ronald Wates (TSRW), Surrey’s very own JD Wetherspoon pub located in the former Wates House Bar, is now officially open.

Following the earlier announcement about the UK’s first University-owned Wetherspoon pub coming to Stag Hill, we are pleased to confirm that The Sir Ronald Wates opened for the first time on Tuesday 14 July - just in time for Graduation and the closing stages of the FIFA World Cup.

Great value offers and events from day one 

  • A full JD Wetherspoon menu, with great value food and drink deals throughout the day. Download the menu or get it on the Wetherspoon app. 
  • Live coverage of the FIFA World Cup on the big screen, with all matches from the semi-finals onwards being screened, plus coverage of other big sporting events and fixtures throughout the year. 
  • Limited edition Hot Honey Chicken Bowls and mix and match small plates – perfect for lighter bites in the heat. 
  • TSRW will be open just in time for Graduation celebrations, including drinks before Grad Ball and a hearty breakfast from 8am the next morning. 
  • A 15% VAT reduction on the children’s menu until 1 September.

TSRW will be open 7-days a week, from breakfast till late - perfect for morning breakfast and coffee before a day of meetings, and staff socials into the evening.
