Disability and medical parking

Find out more about applying for a parking permit on disabled and medical grounds.

Applying for a permit

There are different application processes for students who are blue badge holders and those who are applying on medical grounds.

Applying as an existing blue badge holder

If you are already a Blue Badge holder you can register for a 12-month Blue Badge permit to park on both Stag Hill and Manor Park. You do not need to complete any other form of application, once this one has been completed, your permit will be active.

Please note, once you’ve submitted your application, you may see a ‘Thank you’ screen that shows “This visit is valid for today only, you must re—register next time you enter the car park.” Please disregard this, you will be eligible for 12 months to park anywhere across both Stag Hill and Manor Park campuses.

Disabled bays are located throughout each campus and our Campus Safety team will be able to advise the most suitable spaces for you to use. If you have a visitor coming to the University who holds a blue badge, see our accessibility information

Applying on medical grounds

The university offers a Purple Permit scheme for students who require parking support on medical grounds but do not qualify for a Blue Badge. This scheme is designed to assist individuals with physical or hidden disabilities, allowing them to use accessible bays across all campuses.

Approval for this permit requires support from the Disability and Neuro-Inclusion (D+N) team. The Transport team collaborates with the D+N team to review and process applications. Applicants do not need to provide documentation directly to the Transport team, as the D+N team will confirm eligibility.

The permit type would be Student Accessible / PAYG or Pay monthly (dependent on payment choice). Find out more.
