Recent Graduate international work placements

Our recent graduates can access a Turing grant to undertake a work placement overseas that will enhance professional skills and establish networks to increase global job prospects. The placement needs to be completed within 12 months of graduating.

Turing Scheme for recent graduates

The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s global programme to study and work across the world. Through the Turing Scheme, the University of Surrey will provide recent graduates within 12 months of graduating with grant funding to take up work placements abroad of between 28 days to 12 months in duration. It is a non-repayable grant which you can use towards living costs and travel abroad.

The Scheme supports placements in all countries, provided FCDO travel advice is followed.  As the scheme is to promote global mobility, international students will need to undertake their work placement in a third country, it is not available to support students to return home to undertake a work placement.
