How to pay for your PAYG permit

Evology offer various payment options for permit holders, including accessible permits.

Pre-Pay: top up in advance

You have three options to choose from:

  • Auto restore: automatically tops up to a defined balance (e.g. tops up to £50 when balance is low).
  • Auto top-up: adds a fixed amount when your balance drops (e.g. £25 each time).
  • Manual top up: your account will not automatically be topped up when your balance runs low. You must manually add money to your account yourself via Evology Autopay website. Example: If your balance is £1.00 and you make a £2.00 parking transaction, it will be declined unless you’ve added funds yourself beforehand.

Important: drivers are not notified when funds are low, so you will need to check your balance regularly. Failed payments will lead to 3 warning emails, and if payment is not made within 3 days a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) will be issued.

Pay to Park: via automatic payment

An automatic payment is taken from your registered card after each session – there is no need to top up an account.

This is our recommended option as it avoids the requirement to monitor your balance - your payment will be taken as long as you have funds available on your registered card.

Permit options - residents and Blue Badge

Stag Hill and Manor Park Residents permit

Limited parking is available at Stag Hill and Manor Park for students living in University-managed accommodation.

Please note: parking at Bellerby Court is managed through a different provider. Please see the Bellerby Court Residents dropdown for information.

Cost of parking

Permits are £29 per month and must be renewed monthly.

Number of vehicles

Only one car is allowed per permit. Any change of vehicle must be updated at least one day before driving on campus.

Monthly renewal and payment options

  • Each month, you will receive 3 emails from the Evology Permit System prompting you to renew your permit and make payment through Worldpay.
  • It’s important to make your payment before the date of your initial payment. For example, if you paid for your permit on 13 September, your next payment must be made by 12 October to keep your permit valid.
  • Your payment is only valid from the day you make it and covers the following 4 weeks. Payments cannot be backdated.
  • You can also choose make up to 9 payments in advance, covering up to June 2026.
  • If you do not renew, your permit will become invalid and a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) may be issued if you park in a permit holder car park.
  • If you are not planning to be on campus during a given month, you do not need to renew until you return.

Eligibility

You must live in University-managed accommodation on Stag Hill or Manor Park and meet one of the following criterion:

Please note: part-time work is not considered valid for applications or appeals.

All permit applications will be checked against student records.

Bellerby Court residents

Bellerby Court parking is owned by the Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH) and operated by A2Dominion on behalf of the Hospital.

Cost of parking

£252 per year or £21 per month (prices subject to change).

Once your permit is ready, you can pay directly by card at the Hospital’s Travel Plan Office.

Location

Permit holders may park only in the Bellerby Court area at Rosalind Franklin Close. Parking in the Gill Avenue car park (facing the Hospital) is not allowed.

Eligibility

You must be a resident at Bellerby Court (Frances Harrison, Wealden, or West Sussex Houses). Spaces are not guaranteed, nad permits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Moving into accommodation

Temporary permits are available for free to help you move into your accommodation. You can request this by either:

  • Calling the Hospital Parking Office before leaving your car: 01483 571122, extension 6962
  • Visiting their 24/7 parking office which is located inside the Royal Surrey County Hospital (opposite Bellerby Court).

Temporary permits are valid until 6am on the following day. Cars parked after this time may receive a Parking Charge Notice (PCN).

Important rules

  • You must display a valid permit at all times or risk a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). Unpaid PCNs may be passed to debt collectors
  • Lending your permit to others can result in suspension of parking privileges.
  • Notes left on dashboards will not prevent PCNs.
  • This permit does not allow you to park in any University-managed permit holder car parks. If you need to park on campus, you should use one of our pay and display car parks.

How to apply

Complete the online application form to request a pink permit for A2 Dominion residents.

Additional information and support

Blue Badge holders

Cost of parking

Blue Badge holders are entitled to free parking in any permit holder car park across Stag Hill and Manor Park (including Kate Granger). This includes all accessible parking bays.

Number of vehicles

Only one car is allowed per permit. Any change of vehicle must be updated at least one day before driving on campus.

Guidance for Blue Badge holders

  • Your Blue Badge must be issued in your own name.
  • You must not use a Blue Badge issued to a family member or any other person. Using someone else's Blue Badge is illegal and may constitute fraud. Any student found using a Blue Badge that has not been issued to them will be referred to the University's Office of Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulation (OSCAR) for investigation and may also be reported to the relevant external authorities where appropriate.
  • Your vehicle registration must be linked to your Blue Badge permit to avoid receiving fines through our Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system.
  • You must display your Blue Badge in your windscreen when using our accessible parking bays.
  • Blue Badge holders may also park on double yellow lines for up to 2 hours, provided the Blue Badge and parking clock are correctly displayed, with the arrival time clearly set. Vehicles must not block access roads, emergency routes, dropped kerbs, entrances, or any area that could obstruct other vehicles or pedestrians. Failure to display the badge and clock correctly may result in a PCN.

Accessible parking for visitors

If you have a visitor coming to the University who holds a Blue Badge, please see our accessibility information

How to apply for a parking permit

To apply for a permit, follow these steps via the Evology Permit System. All applications are assessed against the eligibility criteria. Please note that all steps must be completed for your permit to be active.

This process should also be followed by Blue Badge holders looking for accessible parking.

Bellerby Court residents - please see specific information for Bellerby Court above. Do not follow the instructions below.

Read through all the information on this page

This is an important first step as it will help you decide which permit you are eligible for, how much it will cost, and how to apply. This will save time later, and provide you with a smoother application experience.

Ensure you are eligible for a parking permit

From September 2026, the eligibility criteria for student parking permits will change for students living in the GU1 and GU2 postcode areas.

If you live in GU1 or GU2 postcodes, you will only be eligible to apply for a parking permit if you meet one of the below criteria:

  • Medical grounds
  • Proven caring or childcare (for children aged 13 years or under) commitments
  • Dual Career Athlete scheme.

If you live outside of the Guildford area (outside of the GU1 and GU2 postcode areas), there is a strong possibility that you will be granted a permit to park.

Log into the Evology Permit system and submit an application

After registration, log in using your University email address (e.g., to0001@surrey.ac.uk).

Log in and submit an application

Check your application status

Until your permit is approved, you must use our pay and display car parks. Using permit holder car parks without a permit will likely result in a Parking Charge Notice (PCN).

Approved applications

You will receive instructions on setting up payment through the permit system. Please note that your permit will only be valid once payment is completed - failure to set up payment will invalidate your permit.

Rejected applications

You may appeal by providing additional evidence.

Set up a payment method

Once your permit application is approved, you will receive instructions via your University email address on how to set up payment with Evology Autopay for Pay As You Go (PAYG) users, or through World Pay for Stag Hill and Manor Park Residents.

You can read more about payment methods above.

Payment methods must be set up before parking to activate your permit. Inactive permits will result in Parking Charge Notice (PCN) fines.
