Facilities and services

Here you can find out more information about the range of facilities and services available in the Library.

The Library is open 24/7 during term time, with the majority of study spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis.

You can also access the Library online and get academic skills support online.

You will need your campus card to borrow anything from the Library.

Borrowing books

Find out all about borrowing, renewing and reserving books from the Library.

Borrowing library equipment

Noise cancelling headphones, to aid concentration, can be borrowed for 8 hours. These come with a charging cable, a connecting cable, and a bag. All items must be returned together.

Logitech webcams, which are perfect for recording presentations or attending an online interview, can also be borrowed for up to 8 hours. These come with a charging cable, a connecting cable, and a remote control. All items must be returned together.

Study spaces

We have 1,600 study spaces available for you to use, including:

  • Silent study areas
  • Individual study areas 
  • Group study areas. 

Look at our floor plans to find out where the study areas are located.

The majority of study spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Some spaces, for example our group study rooms, can be booked online

We have 11 group study rooms for use, and these can be booked 24 hours a day

PCs and laptops

Find a PC

There are 350 PCs located in the Library. View our PC finder to see live updates on PC availability across campus.

Library laptops

The laptop lockers are located on Level 1 next to the Green lift. You will need your Campus Card to borrow a laptop. Loans are for four hours, or seven days. Please read the terms and conditions of use. Ensure that you plug the laptop into the power supply on return.

PC Labs

In addition to the Library, there are five open-access PC labs situated on the ground floor of the Austin Pearce (AP) building on Stag Hill campus, visit the PC labs and facilities page for more information. 

IT support

For IT all support, including information on printing, scanning and photocopying, visit the IT information.

Support - level one

Library staff are on hand to help you in person from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday from the Library welcome desk. Outside of these hours, the Library is staffed by the Campus Safety team.
