Getting your results

Results are accessed via Surrey Self-Service and published progressively throughout the day. 

Publication of results

Confirmed results following Boards of Examiners are made available each semester across all faculties to the following schedule:

Achieving your final award

If you have successfully achieved your final award, you will also be issued with a final HEAR transcript.

Re-assessments

If you need to undertake any re-assessment you will find the information detailing the failed modules and the re-assessments necessary on your results page in self-service.

Resitting an examination

Where this is required, your progression status will describe the outcome from your recent assessments. Further information can be found on your progression status on our results information page.

If you fail a unit of assessment within a module, and the module is failed overall, you will normally be allowed one re-assessment of the failed unit, which will take place at the appointed reassessment period (August-September).

Upon successful completion of the reassessed unit, the mark awarded for the unit shall be the University pass mark:

  • 40% for undergraduate (FHEQ Level 4, 5, 6)
  • 50% for postgraduate (FHEQ Level 7)
  • 50% for foundation year studies
  • 50% for BVMSci Veterinary Medicine and Science.

If you fail your reassessment, you will be awarded the higher mark of the two attempts.

Examinations for reassessments are timetabled in the same way as normal examinations.

Coursework feedback

Feedback and the provisional mark will be released 3 weeks after the submission deadline.  Both feedback and the provisional mark will be available in the submission folder on SurreyLearn.

Sitting a deferred examination

Where you have approved extenuating circumstances, it will usually be assessed in the same way as the attempt that was deferred, whether that was a first attempt or reassessment.

Complaints and appeals

The Office of Students Complaints, Appeals and Regulation (OSCAR) provide guidance on the University's regulations, appeals and complaints.

You can also email the Students’ Union who offer advice and support if you wish to initiate procedures under the University’s internal processes.
