Where to go for help right now

But first of all, remember - if you are in immediate or longer-term need of support then there are many services available for you. We know that talking about money can be uncomfortable, but our teams are experienced in supporting students with financial difficulties and can often help you to find simple solutions that will make a big difference.

Our Student Money Support team can help with anything from complex money queries, repeat funding, financial hardship, and support with managing your money. -

Your Students' Union Support team are here to provide you with impartial advice and guidance, and can talk through your difficulties. -

MySurrey Hive provides you with access to immediate support and advice on student-life related queries. -
Centre for Wellbeing
If you find your health and wellbeing is being affected by your cost of living challenges then our Centre for Wellbeing can offer free and confidential help. -
How to find a job
Part-time work alongside your studies can be a great way to earn money and improve your employability. There are options both on campus and within the local community. -

Our team of 16 chaplains are here to listen to support all students. They can listen and help to guide you to right support services for you.

The new MySurrey Dot spaces are part of the ongoing commitment made by the University to improve facilities across campus. -

We launched a swap shop on the Stag Hill campus where you can donate your unwanted items and pick up pre-loved goodies for free. -

Hardship fund
Our hardship fund is there for you are struggling with the cost of living or are facing unexpected financial difficulty. Applications are open all year round. -
Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA)
The Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) can provide support with costs of specialist equipment, non-medical helpers, travel and other costs of studying. -
We have increased the stipend for PGR students
In 2022, we agreed to match the UKRI’s stipend increase for all internally funded studentships irrespective of the year of study.

The University and Students’ Union provide free and sustainable period products in various locations across campus. -
Free laptop loans
Laptops are available to borrow from the Library (24/7 access). These loans are free and there's no criteria for access - just bring your student ID card. -
Download Microsoft Office 365 software for free
Every student can download the essential Microsoft Office 365 package to multiple devices for free - a saving of nearly £60 per year. -
£10 free printing credits
Did you know that all undergraduate and postgraduate taught students receive £10 free printing credits at the start of Semester 1? -
20% discount on childcare at Bright Horizons
Bright Horizons, located on the Manor Park campus, offers a 20% discount on the market rate to all members of our University community.

ECs can help you when you experience challenges that impair your ability to participate in your programme or assessments. -
Access to free learning resources
You have access to free library resources such as digital textbooks via the BibliU bookshelf, plus thousands of ebooks, journals, films, audiobooks via your reading list. -
Moving your teaching sessions if you are commuting to campus
Everyone is expected to attend teaching sessions but we know that some students commute quite some way to campus or are juggling work and other life commitments.
