
Buying printing credits

When you first join the University your print account will already be preloaded with some initial credit. Once this is used up, you will need to top-up your account using the online payment system using the instructions below.
Buy print credits using a credit or debit card
You can credit your account with £5, £10, £15, £20 or £25 using your debit or credit card. To do this:
- Visit Surrey print credits
- Enter your University username and password to login
- Select online payment system from the navigation menu on the left of the page
- You will be prompted to enter your university username (e.g. ab123) and surname
- Tick the box to confirm you accept the terms outlined before clicking continue
- Select the amount you would like to top-up your account with and click continue
- Confirm the payment amount is correct and click continue
- Select Debit/Credit Card and click continue
- Enter and confirm your payment details.
View your print transactions
A report including date, amount spent, printer used and the number of pages printed can be produced by following the steps below.
- Visit Surrey print credits
- Select Transaction History from the left menu
- To view a specific time frame click edit next to the Filter on text at the top of the screen and enter the start and end date for the transaction report
- Select Apply Filter and a report indicating the transactions made will be displayed.
You will also be able to view print jobs pending release, recent print jobs and your account balance using the web link above.
Refund print credits
Only personal credit deposits made by cash or card are eligible for refunds; complimentary allowances from the University can only be used for printing and cannot be processed for refund.
To transfer personal credit to another user account or apply for a refund please complete the yellow sections of this print credit form (xlsx) and email it to the IT Service Desk with your username and contact email and/or telephone number.
Printing charges
Each page that you print or photocopy will cause funds to be deducted from your print account with IT Services with the following charges:
A4
- Black and white / greyscale: 4p per page
- Black and white / greyscale duplex*: 8p per page
- Colour: 10p
- Colour duplex*: 20p
A3
- Black and white / Greyscale: 6p per page
- Black and white / Greyscale duplex*: 12p per page
- Colour: 20p
- Colour duplex*: 40p
* Printing on both sides of a page.
Note: your files will automatically print in black and white and duplex as default.
Topping up print credits
Topping up print credits
