What is SurreyConnects?

Think LinkedIn but Surrey exclusive! It’s an online, networking, and mentoring platform where you can:  

  • Search for Surrey alumni professionals in a range of industries across the globe who have been in your shoes and can offer great tips and advice.
  • Chat to alumni via messaging or video chat and take part in our ‘Three Cups of Coffee’ scheme – an opportunity to have three one-hour virtual coffees with a mentor to ask them about their industry, gain tips and tricks and reflect upon your future career. 
  • Keep up to date with University news and updates. 
  • Find upcoming events and job vacancies. 

All of our mentors have agreed to join the platform to support you and were once in your shoes, so can offer the best advice tailored to your interests or career plans. 

It’s free to sign up and you can retain access once you have graduated, and maybe even become a mentor yourself one day!

Once you sign up you can customise your profile and edit your preferences, showing whether you want a mentor or are just here to network.

SurreyConnects staff will always be on hand to help you navigate the platform and help you find a mentor.

We currently have thousands of members including alumni mentors across the globe, ready to answer one-off questions or have mentoring chats, so why not get started today?

What is "Three Cups of Coffee"?

Three Cups of Coffee is an informal, short-term mentoring scheme on SurreyConnects, which you can adapt and make your own.

What other careers support is available to me at the University?

Our Employability and Careers team are on hand to support all students who are looking for ways to boost their employability or start their career. You can book an online drop-in to speak to a member of the team, or get in touch via email.
