Removing your Professional Training placement from your degree

Practical advice if you have changed your mind about doing Professional Training placement as part of your degree.

The thought of removing your Professional Training placement is one that might seem quite daunting, but we are here to help you make a decision that is right for you, and we recommend that you access the right support networks before finalising what you want to do.

If you are uncertain about what decision you make, we highly recommend speaking to our Placements team for advice before you make any decisions. They will be able to support you with any questions you may have and support you to find a placement if you need.

Specific information for international students

The University will notify the Home Office about the change and you do not need to apply for a new visa. 

When you have successfully completed your programme, we will notify the Home Office of your early completion. At this point your current visa will be curtailed (cancelled) so that you have four months remaining after your new course end date.
