Course issues
Find out more about changing your course and resitting modules and exams.
Changing your course
Course changes may affect your Tier 4 or Student visa and your future visa applications to the UK. Before making a decision about changing your course, please do contact us to check whether such change is possible.
If a proposed course change would meet the University’s and Home Office requirements you would be advised further on a new Certificate of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) and Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate (if applicable).
For extending students, your CAS will be issued by the International Student Advice team.
CAS supporting documents
- Financial document that meets the Home Office rules and regulations (if applicable)
- Copy of your current passport
- ATAS certificate (if applicable)
- If you are adding a Professional Training placement or you are transferring onto a different course, please provide proof that your personal statement has been accepted by the Visa Compliance team e.g. acceptance email.
Please contact us for a CAS request form.
Re-sitting exams and modules
If you have been informed that you have failed a module or an exam and need to re-sit, you will need to speak with your faculty to see if you need re-sit with or without attendance; this needs to be agreed with your faculty.
Please email your course administrator or helpdesk to find out details of your re-sit:
- Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences
- Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences
- Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
- Doctoral College.
Once you know whether you will be resitting with or without attendance please contact us.
