Campus card collection

Receiving your campus card is one of the most iconic moments of your welcome experience, and for many it’ll be the first time that you feel truly like a University of Surrey student! 

Therefore, we recommend you collect your campus card as soon as possible

Your campus card is your personalised ID to prove that you are a proud Surrey student, but it also gets you access to the Library and other campus spaces, plus unlocks discounts in a range of stores and retailers. 

Important: who should attend campus card collection

UK/Irish students

BMBS Medicine (Graduate Entry) students

You do not need to attend campus card collection, you will be able to collect your card on Sunday 14 September when you attend main registration.

If you cannot collect your card on this day, then you will be able to collect it from the Kate Granger building.

Veterinary Medicine and Science students  

You do not need to attend campus card collection, you will be able to collect your card when you attend main registration.

All other programmes

You must attend campus card collection after completing online registration. Please read the information below.

Non-UK/Irish students

This is the final step in your registration! When you can collect your campus card will depend on when you completed online registration AND the photo for your campus card is approved. Please read the information below.

Postgraduate research students

If you complete your online registration before 9am on 29 September you can collect your campus card through campus card collection opening hours.

If you complete your online registration after 9am on 29 September, you will receive an email to confirm when you can collect your campus card from the first floor of the Library.

Important note: if you are not given the option to upload your campus card photo during online registration, you can submit a campus card request form to have your card produced and printed for collection at the Library. Please ensure you have accessed and protected your IT account first.

How to prepare for campus card collection

Collecting your card is a quick, simple process.

What happens at campus card collection?

You will be asked to show your ID and we will hand you your card. 

If you are a non-UK/Irish student and you are also attending to complete main registration, you will be taken through the relevant steps and checks as detailed on our main registration page

When is campus card collection?

During the online registration process, you will be asked to upload a photo for your campus card. Once it’s approved, you will receive an email to confirm and you will be able to collect your card on campus.

Upcoming dates:

  • Courses starting in February 2026: Monday 2 - Friday 6 February 2026
  • Courses starting in September 2026: TBC

If you do not collect your campus card

You will need your campus card to access the Library and other study spaces and sit exams, so it’s vital that you pick it up when you start to avoid encountering problems later.

Find your identification

We require some identification when you collect your card. Please bring one of the following:

  • Passport
  • Birth certificate
  • National ID card
  • UK photo driving licence.

Please note that we can only accept original ID copies – photocopies or scans will not be accepted.

Attend campus card collection

Come and find us at the locations stated below with your identification in hand – our team will be there to meet you and answer any questions you have!  

When you can collect your campus card will depend on when you completed online registration AND the photo for your campus card is approved

You will know when your campus card photo has been approved as you will receive an email confirmation.  You do not need to book a slot to collect your campus card – just drop by during the opening hours below.
