An update on parking across our campuses

Following the first few weeks of the new academic year, we wanted to provide a further update on parking across Stag Hill and Manor Park.

Published:

We recognise that having more staff and students spending time on campus is a positive part of a vibrant University community. With finite parking capacity, however, we all need to play a part in making the fairest and safest use of the spaces available.

Please only park in designated spaces

  • Unfortunately, on our busiest days we have seen an increase in vehicles parking outside designated bays, including on yellow hatched areas, grass verges and other unsuitable locations. This can obstruct access routes, create safety concerns and make it more difficult for everyone to move around campus safely
  • Enforcement is now fully in operation across campus, and penalty charge notices (PCNs) are being issued.

Keep your details up to date

  • Ensure your permit details and parking payments are fully up to date before you park. If you change your vehicle or personal details, remember that these need to be updated in both the Evology Permits and Evology Autopay (for PAYG permit) systems.

Making the best use of our parking

  • If your usual car park is full, please consider the alternative permit-holder parking available across both campuses, including Manor Park.
  • We appreciate this may mean parking further away from your destination, but a parking permit provides permission to use University parking; it does not guarantee a space in a particular car park or on campus. All spaces remain available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If you find that you need to park in one of our Manor Park campus car parks, and therefore travel to Stag Hill, you can pick up buses (Route 1 takes you to Stag Hill) and Beryl e-bikes (get 25% off rides) from the road in front of the Bright Horizons Nursery.

Planning ahead

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays are particularly busy on Stag Hill - please allow additional time for your journey in case you need more time to look for a space.
  • Where appropriate and available to you, we would also encourage considering alternative ways of travelling to campus, including public transport, cycling or other sustainable travel options.

Full information on parking locations, permit permissions and alternative travel options can be found on our parking webpages.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our campuses safe and accessible for everyone.
