
Meet the Centre for Wellbeing team

The Counselling Team within the Centre for Wellbeing (CWB) is made up of qualified and experienced counsellors who are all accredited or registered members of professional organisations, and who abide by a professional Code of Ethics.
Our counsellors
All our counsellors are skilled in helping with a full range of issues, including, but not limited to:
- Anxiety and stress
- Low mood or symptoms of depression
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Motivation and procrastination
- Homesickness or loneliness
- Bereavement and loss
- Relationships or sexuality
- Social or family issues
- Drug and alcohol use
- Distressing life events.
All members of our team can help you with any of the issues you want to talk about.
Some have special interests which we list below. If you’re not able to book a session with a counsellor with the special interest you want, we suggest you can feel confident to book with any counsellor, as they will be able to help you and will refer you to any further support if needed.

We also have volunteer counsellors who are either in training or recently qualified, carefully chosen for their suitability and experience, and who are closely supervised by our core team.
Student Mental Health
Our mental health practitioners are a specialist team of social workers, mental health nurses and an eating disorder therapist. They offer students support and guidance to students with complex or enduring mental health conditions including:
- mood disorders
- psychosis
- personality disorders
- eating disorders.
The mental health practitioner team can offer advice and guidance on managing student life with a mental health condition and support co-ordination and liaison with academic departments and external health teams.
