Find out how to set up and access your University email and calendar from various devices, and what happens to your University email when you leave the University.

Key information

  • Your email address is in the following format: username@surrey.ac.uk. For example, ab12345@surrey.ac.uk.
  • Your email address will give you access to many University services such as your Surrey365 email inbox, SurreyLearn and eduroam Wi-Fi.
  • Your department will use your student email to contact you about important messages regarding your course. The University also shares news, events and other information using email so you must check your account regularly.
How to set up your email and calendar for the first time

Surrey365 is the University's email service which is provided through a partnership between the University and Microsoft using Microsoft's Office 365 service. 

Surrey365 provides email and calendaring to the University and has the benefits of a 50GB mailbox, effective spam filtering and a fast interface.

Logging into Surrey365 for the first time:

  1. To login to Surrey365 visit: surrey365.surrey.ac.uk
  2. When you login for the first time you will be prompted to restart Outlook.
  3. Once Outlook has restarted enter your IT account username and password. Your username must be followed by the suffix @surrey.ac.uk, for example ta001@surrey.ac.uk.
