Student Enterprise events

We offer a range of workshops designed to challenge you, run by our experienced entrepreneurs.
Student Enterprise Programme
We run a regular series of enterprise skills workshops throughout the academic year. The sessions are aimed primarily at undergraduate and postgraduate students who would like to find out more about starting their own business or social enterprise. You can come along to as many sessions as you like.
What's involved?
The sessions usually take place on Tuesdays during semester, run between 5:30 - 7p.m and are free to all University of Surrey students.
Led by business professionals, the workshops are aimed at promoting an awareness of the different areas that need to be addressed/considered when setting up a business. The sessions are introductory and broad in nature. Where appropriate, the sessions will be as interactive as possible and will make use of case studies to help illustrate points and bring the subject alive for participants. You will be able to ask questions and be signposted to sources of further information.

Activities Week
Many of our undergraduate students take part in Activities Week at least once in each academic year. The week of intensive practical activities, workshops and competitions is designed to develop your personal, business and enterprise skills and give you the opportunity to put into practice the theory learnt in lectures and seminars.
Overview
Over the three-day workshop you will be required to think strategically and collaboratively with your team, teaching you a range of problem-solving skills along the way. The structure of the Enterprise Summer School will allow you to follow how an idea can go from just that, to a fully-fledged venture, giving you an insight into entrepreneurial thinking.
With interactive, innovative and challenging activities throughout, it will also be great fun and give you an opportunity to network with like-minded enterprises students and entrepreneurial speakers and mentors.
You will:
- Explore the basics of developing a business idea
- Develop practical business skills to enhance your employability
- Receive guidance and support from business experts
- Build your network with other like-minded students and successful entrepreneurs
- Be inspired.
Upon completing all three days, you will receive a certificate of attendance.
Eligibility
This is open to all current students and graduates, from all disciplines and backgrounds. You don't need any knowledge of business or finance, just enthusiasm.
