If you think you may be pregnant, you should do a pregnancy test as soon as possible. A test kit can be bought from most pharmacies and supermarkets, or you can check if your local GP offers free pregnancy testing.
If you discover you are pregnant, several options are available to you. Important information to help you make your decision can be found on the MSI Reproductive Choices website.
You are encouraged to disclose a pregnancy as early as possible to an appropriate member of staff. The university can support you in many ways, including putting together an Individual Support and Adjustments Plan (ISAP) for you. However you should first of all reach out to your Personal Tutor or your Student Success Coach as support from the academic teams will be needed to facilitate this process. Alternatively, you can request a chat first of all with a Student Support Coordinator and to do this you should raise a case on Surrey Support and put either “Support with my Pregnancy” or ”Request for Student Support Coordinator” as the subject.
If you feel overwhelmed and think you would benefit from emotional or mental health support at any time, you can make an appointment to see a mental health practitioner or counsellor at the Centre for Wellbeing. Or, you may choose to seek help from your GP.
