Surrey County Council offers a free bus pass to disabled students. However, this bus pass may not meet need everyone's needs.
If you require a bus pass and are not entitled to an alternative such as a taxi allowance through the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), you may be eligible for a free bus pass to travel between Manor Park and Stag Hill campuses where disability-related reasons make it difficult to walk or cycle between campuses and travel is required to access your studies. You may be eligible for funded travel up to three miles from campus if you have disability-related reasons that make it difficult to walk or cycle between your accommodation and the campus where you are studying.
Please note that additional eligibility criteria apply, and meeting the criteria outlined above does not automatically guarantee that free bus travel will be approved.
If you think this may apply to you, please contact Disability and Neuroinclusion via Surrey Support. A Disability Adviser will discuss your individual circumstances and consider the most appropriate support for your needs, which may include options other than free bus travel.
If free bus travel is approved, you will need to purchase the bus pass initially and then claim the cost back through the Disability and Neuroinclusion team.
