Know who to contact - Campus Security

You are kept safe by our Campus Safety team 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have a uniformed presence on the Stag Hill and Manor Park campuses, with regular uniformed patrols in other areas associated with the University.

We recommend saving these numbers to your phone in case of emergency.

In an emergency, call +44 (0)1483 683333.

If you are walking home there are a number of apps such as the Walk Safe app and Hollie Guard app, or Strut Safe is a UK-wide phone line. If you're walking alone, you can call 0333 335 0026 and speak to a friendly volunteer who will keep you company and help you feel safe until you are through the door.

Top tips

  • Plan where you are going and how you are going to get back and, if you can, tell someone where you are going and when you will be back.
  • Get a free personal safety alarm from Campus Security and carry it with you and make sure it is easily accessible.
  • Always keep hold of your drinks and use an anti-drink spiking device.
  • At night, keep to well-lit streets and walk with others.
  • Remember to use one of the safety apps.
  • Don't be tempted to get into an unlicensed cab. If you can, get a lift with someone you trust or book a taxi. If travelling by bus, sit on the lower deck.
