Based on Studs Terkel’s bestselling book of interviews, Working celebrates the extraordinary in the everyday. From teachers to truck drivers, waitresses to masons, it’s a tapestry of voices; funny, touching, and deeply human, revealing what we do all day, and why it matters.

With a vibrant score from some of America’s most gifted songwriters, including Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), James Taylor, and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), the show blends a range of musical styles into a heartfelt, inspiring portrait of the workforce. Every song is a story, every story a window into someone’s hopes, struggles, and pride.

This production features both MFA Acting and MFA Musical Theatre students in collaboration with BA Theatre Production and MA Stage Management students.
