If you have completed online registration, please do not worry if you have not received your maintenance payment before you start university. If you have not registered, please complete this as soon as possible. Your SFE maintenance loan payment cannot be paid until you have registered and the University has confirmed your enrolment with SFE and it is not possible for the University to confirm enrolment statuses any earlier than Welcome Week. Once Welcome Week has started and you have arrived on campus, we will confirm your student enrolment with SFE. It can take the university a few days to process all records with SFE due to the high volume of student enrolment at this time, and it can then take SFE a further few days to update students' applications.
Once SFE have received confirmation of your enrolment from us, your SFE application portal will be updated and your maintenance loan will be paid.
If by the end of the first week of the new semester, you have not received an update from SFE, you can contact them directly to enquire why it has not been paid. If you need further support with this, the Hive and/or the Student Money Advice Team can help. Please contact the MySurrey Hive team via Surrey Support and select "Money and Finance" as your enquiry topic.
Please also note that university accommodation fees do not become payable until October.
At the start of the semester, it may take a few working days for Student Finance to process your registration and make the payment KA-02803 100 Money and finance Loans and Student Finance Published
