We are aware of a small fire in a bin behind the Students' Union Building this lunchtime. The Fire Brigade attended and the fire was quickly brought under control, with no injuries and no damage to the building.

Unfortunately, due to the connected nature of the buildings in that part of campus, a full evacuation of a number of buildings took place. This affected examinations taking place in University Hall. We are currently in the process of contacting all students who have been affected to reassure them that we will take action to ensure they are not disadvantaged, and will communicate with them this week with more information on next steps. No other examinations are affected.
