Nominations open for Student Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Awards

Do you know someone who deserves to be awarded for their contributions to equality, diversity and inclusion at the University?

Nominations are open for two University-wide awards, Faculty Student Awards and University Student Award, aimed at celebrating our diverse campus community and to recognise those who go above and beyond to make a significant contribution to enhancing or supporting equality, diversity and inclusion.

This may include, but is not limited to: 

  • the introduction and running of events/activities
  • peer support / mentoring
  • the creation of effective resources (e.g. digital, literary, artistic)
  • volunteer work of relevance to the student population
  • contributions to curriculum or module design
  • society set-up and / or contributions
  • acting as a positive role model who consistently champions EDI
  • demonstrating innovation in EDI activities

Nominations can be made by students (including self-nominations) or staff, with a brief supporting statement (500 words max). The prize is £250 for the winner or student group. 

The Faculty Student Award is open to all students, and the University Student Award is only open to final year students, even those who have won awards in the past. 

Nominations close on Tuesday 6 May 2025.
