Neurodiversity Celebration Week

We're proud to be supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week (Monday 17 - Sunday 23 March).

Published:

This week is all about challenging misconceptions around neurological conditions, breaking down barriers and celebrating these differences. At Surrey we are proud of our diverse community and are delighted to share that your Students' Union has created a new Disability and Neurodiversity Subnetwork

This network is a welcoming space to share your thoughts around disability, accessibility, neurodiversity and mental health at university and provide feedback on your student experience. Join the Disability and Neurodiversity monthly meetings to be part of the conversation. The next meeting, which will be on Wednesday 26 March (1pm-1.30pm) will be held online here.

Support is available

The Disability and Neuroinclusion team provides support to all students with a disability as defined by The Equality Act (2010). They are able to support you by arranging reasonable adjustments, implementing exam arrangements and adjustments and providing screening for specific learning differences.

If you need to take some time out, don't be afraid to check out the peaceful interior the new sensory room in MySurrey Dot Senate House. With comfortable seating, soft lighting and sensory items, all students are welcome to make use of this calm new space.

Share your experience

As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2025, we would love to hear your views and thoughts around neurodiversity. This questionnaire aims to gather the current experiences of neurodivergent staff and students on campus to help inform a picture of where we are at as a university. We want to hear what's going right and what's going wrong.

This project is being run in collaboration with the Neurodivergent Network Chair (Heather Lane), VP Voice Luana Vasconcelos, VP Support Sam Buss and the Disability and Neurodiversity Subnetwork to ensure we are hearing your views and pushing for change where needed.

The questionnaire is completely anonymous, and you can choose whatever questions you are comfortable answering.

We're looking forward to hearing your views!
