The National Student Survey 2024 results are in!

The University of Surrey has been ranked 11th* in the UK for student satisfaction and 1st in the UK for communicating information about mental wellbeing support services, in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2024. 

A total of 121 universities and higher education institutions took part in this year’s survey, with Surrey achieving a completion rate of 77.5%. 

Last year’s survey included several new questions, including - “How well communicated was information about your university's mental wellbeing support services?” – in which Surrey achieved a score of 87.9%, the best in the UK. 

The University’s overall positivity score remains above sector average at 84.7% and highlights include: 

• Teaching: a score of 87.8%
• Learning Resources: a score of 91.4%
• Learning Opportunities: a score of 85.5%
• Academic Support: a score of 89.3%
• Assessment and Feedback: a score 80%
• Student Voice: a score of 79.1%

Our Class of 2024, many of whom took time to share their valuable feedback with us, will graduate at ceremonies on Friday or next week. We look forward to celebrating with them and continuing to create the conditions for everyone to succeed at Surrey.” 

We’re already rolling out exciting changes designed to provide you with the right information and support, including:

• In addition to the existing Hive on the Stag Hill campus, we’re opening a brand-new Hive at Manor Park. You will be able to interact with our MySurrey Hive Assistants, who will provide first-line support and triage to specialist teams where required.
• We're improving our student-focused support, including the introduction of new self-help tools: from August, you will be able to use new digital tools to access help when you need support, and at a time to suit you.
• We are committed to continually improving your study spaces. Recent campus improvements include the introduction of five MySurrey Dot social study spaces and upgrades to classrooms.
