Take the Sustainability Mark

All societies and clubs can tackle the Sustainability Mark to get recognised as a sustainable group. Actions range from promoting sustainability initiatives, to organising meet-ups in a sustainable way. Fill out the online form by Wednesday 22 April to be in with a chance of winning an award!

Go plant-based

Reducing the amount of meat and dairy in your diet is a great way to reduce your environmental impact. Check out Veganuary's top tips throughout January for plant-based inspiration. Try out the vegan and vegetarian options available at the University's catering outlets too.

Get volunteering

Volunteering is a great way to build up skills for your CV, whilst giving back to the community. Follow Sustainable Surrey to get access to the latest sustainability volunteering opportunities.

Remember reusables

Catering outlets across campus have stopped providing single-use coffee cups to reduce the University’s waste. Remember to bring your own reusable cups, or try out the new Cauli Cup scheme.

Celebrate sustainable success

Know someone who is going above and beyond to embed sustainability into University life and the community? It's time to celebrate them at the University's upcoming Sustainability Awards, hosted by the Vice Chancellor. Nominations for students are open until 7th April. The University is committed to embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals into all aspects of University life. Find out how else you can support Surrey's sustainability journey.
