ThriveWell and the SU are running this workshop to celebrate UK Disability History Month through hands-on zine-making, encouraging students to explore disability history, identity, and inclusion in a positive and accessible way.
After a warm welcome and a short presentation introducing UKDHM and its importance, attendees will learn what zines are. Students will then brainstorm ideas and create their own mini-zines using collage, drawing, or writing to express messages of creativity, accessibility, and community. The session ends with optional sharing, reflection, and an invitation to display the zines, offering a fun, mindful, and inclusive way to connect with others.
