ICP Hub UK aims to drive the adoption of blockchain and AI technologies among developers, entrepreneurs, and students. Working in a strategic collaboration with Surrey, ICP Hub UK is hosting a hands-on workshop to teach the community about ICP (Internet Computer Protocol), blockchain development and opportunities in the Web3 space.

​This workshop introduces the fundamentals of ICP, smart contract development, and blockchain applications through a mix of educational talks, hands-on coding exercises, and competitions.

​Key Components

1. ​Introduction to ICP & Blockchain Development
   • ​Overview of ICP and its capabilities (e.g., smart contracts, decentralized applications)
   • ​Explanation of Chain Fusion (executing on Bitcoin & Ethereum via ICP)
2. ​Hands-on Developer Workshop
   • ​Step-by-step guidance on building a smart contract (canister) using ICP
   • ​Live coding session with practical demonstrations
3. ​Competitions & Prizes
   • ​Smart Contract Speed Challenge: The fastest functional smart contract deployment wins a cash prize ($200-$300).
   • ​Business Idea Pitch: Students pitch blockchain-based ideas in 2-3 minutes; best pitch wins a prize ($200-$300).
4. ​Special Opportunity: ICP Geneva Scholarship
   • ​The best-performing students (fastest developer & top pitch presenter) will be shortlisted for a blockchain education program in Geneva, with ICP covering accommodation and course fees.
