The University of Surrey offers support and advice for students before, during and after going abroad.
Pre-departure we offer:
- Practical and logistical support and pre-departure guidance online
- Pre-departure briefings
- Drop-in sessions and bookable meetings with the International Engagement Office
- Language preparation – uTalk
- Peer support
- Academic Support from Academic Exchange
- Coordinator for study exchanges
While abroad we offer:
- Dedicated departmental contact - an Academic Exchange Coordinator will support students on study exchanges; and students on a work placement as part of the Professional Training Year will receive support from the Placements Team and Director of Employability
- Access to Surrey services
- Community of Surrey students abroad
On return we offer:
- Employability and International Experience workshop – unpack the skills you’ve learnt
- Buddy Scheme – make international connections with new incoming exchange students
