There are four types of rubbish collected. These should be kept separate using the facilities provided within your kitchen:
- General waste
- Dry mixed recycling (paper, card, tins, plastic cartons)
- Food waste
- Glass
Where possible please make sure all recycling and glass is rinsed to remove debris before being placed into the bins.
Waste is collected two to three times per week, depending on the size of your flat. Any excess waste should be taken to your nearest bin store.
Please note: bedroom waste must be disposed of in the bin stores, not in the kitchen bins.
If you have unwanted items in good condition that you’d like to donate, the University partners with the British Heart Foundation and has donation bins around campus where you can donate your unwanted clothing.
