Stagecoach bus Service 1 diversion to affect Stag Hill services

Stagecoach has advised the University that the number 1 bus service will be diverted to allow Thames Water to carry out essential works in the Guildford Park Road and Guildford Park Avenue from Monday 13 April for up to seven weeks.

Published:

Vehicle access to Stag Hill campus via the Yorkies road entrance will not be permissible during this time. Access to the Council car park will remain unaffected throughout the works.

Diversion route

Service 1 buses travelling between Guildford town centre and the University of Surrey (Austin Pearce) will divert, and run non-stop, via The Chase in both directions.

While the diversion is in place, Stagecoach will be unable to serve the following bus stops:

  • Guildford Park, Car Park
  • Health Centre
  • Duke of Kent building
  • AX Building
  • Senate Square

All other stops along the remaining section of route (Twyford Court, School of Acting, Tesco, Hospital, Manor Park and Sports Park) will continue to be served as normal, although there may be some delays as a result of the diversion.

The diversion will remain in place throughout the duration of the roadworks. Stagecoach will provide updates if these proposed timescales change and thanks customers for their patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out.
