Vaccinations
The best way to protect ourselves and others from infections like Meningitis is through vaccinations.
If you are under 25 and in higher education for the first time, it is recommended that you are vaccinated against Meningitis ACWY. If you have not had your meningitis vaccine or you're unsure if your vaccines are up to date, please check with your GP.

You can access free, Meningitis ACYW vaccine from your Doctor, book an appointment now by contacting (link to GP page on MySurrey).
You can buy Meningitis B vaccines on private prescription at a cost from most pharmacies on the Highstreet
How do I know if I'm up to date with my vaccines?
Check your vaccination record in the NHS app or ask your GP.
Will we be giving students antibiotics to protect them from Meningitis?
No, unless NHS England advises Universities to provide prophylactic antibiotics due to a recent positive contact of Meningitis. We will be in contact the NHS England if any suspected or positive cases occur and we will follow their advice and guidance.
