You are invited to attend the Vice-Chancellor's Installation Ceremony

Tickets for the official installation ceremony of our new President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Stephen Jarvis, are available to book online now.

Published:

Professor Jarvis joined us at the start of the 2025/26 academic year, and his installation will bring together all our communities to mark a significant milestone for the University.

What will happen at the installation?

This momentous event will take place on Wednesday 11 February between 2:30 – 4pm, in Guildford Cathedral.

Traditionally, a Vice-Chancellor’s installation ceremony marks the official assumption of office and symbolises a public commitment to academic leadership within the higher education community.

As part of the ceremony, Professor Jarvis will also give an address outlining his vision for the University, giving students an opportunity to hear about our plans for the coming years.

How to apply to attend

We expect this to be a popular event for both students and staff, so limited tickets are available now on a first come, first served basis to ensure we have balanced representation from across our university community.

Book your ticket online now

Bookings will close at 5pm on Tuesday 20 January 2026, or sooner if we reach capacity.
