All societies and clubs can tackle the Sustainability Mark to get recognised as a sustainable group. Actions range from promoting sustainability initiatives, to organising meet-ups in a sustainable way. Fill out the online form by Wednesday 22 April to be in with a chance of winning an award!
There are many societies organising sustainable activities both across campus and in the local community. These include Sustainability, Action for Climate and Environment and Horticultural Society.
Head over to the SU’s website to find out more.
Volunteering is a great way to build up skills for your CV, whilst giving back to the community. If you volunteer with the University’s Sustainability Team five times, you’ll receive a certificate and digital badge highlighting the skills you’ve developed. Register your interest.
Spend time in nature and learn how to grow your own fruit and vegetables at the University’s Community Garden. Sessions take place every Tuesday 12:30pm – 1:45pm. All experience levels welcome. Sign up.
Bring in your unwanted clothes and home items to the SU’s Community Hub. There are donation points across campus, alongside charity donation bins for the British Heart Foundation and Phyllis Tuckwell.
