(Quiet half-hour 10 - 10.30am)
There will be stands for each region where you will have the chance to chat with students who have previously undertaken a placement or study exchange abroad and hear about their experiences, so have some questions ready!
You can also learn about shorter-term summer programmes, including summer schools, internships and volunteering and discover the exciting opportunities available to you. Speak to some of our providers about their programmes, as well as students who have experienced it first hand!
Chat with other Surrey support services such as the placements and careers team on how they can support you to go abroad.
The International Engagement Office (IEO) will host 30-minute spotlight presentations at 11.15am and 2.15pm on how to budget for your time abroad. Find out about competitive grants and scholarships as well as how tuition fees and student loans are impacted by going abroad, as well as other practical and pastoral support offered at every stage of the journey.
In addition to the amazing memories you’ll make while abroad, you could also pick up skills and experiences including:
Competitive grants and scholarships are available to contribute towards the costs of going abroad. Students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds can apply for funding through grants such as the Turing Scheme for opportunities between 14 days – 12 months.
